Test. Phillip Island. Day 1.
Today in Australian circuit was the first day of the final pre-season tests WSBK and WSS. In the box MV Agusta Reparto Corse – YAKHNICH MOTORSPORT work doesn’t stop for a moment. Crews of all three riders faced with some problems today. Leonov’s engineers managed with difficulties better so Vladimir finished on the third place. Rookie in the YMS Jules Cluzel was 13th today. The same place took another rider of the team in the Superbike class – Claudio Corti.
Jules Cluzel: “Today we came across with different problems. There are hard vibrations on the bike and we don’t know their reasons. Tomorrow we had to start from the beginning, but it doesn’t scare me. It’s a normal job so the positive attitude isn’t lost.”
Vladimir Leonov: “It was good day. We work according the plan and slowly step by step we are going to goal. I’m happy with intermediate results. In the morning everything was good and the weather was favorable to work. In the afternoons the wind rose and it was hard to customize the bike. The bike shakes up at the corner exit. In addition with the wind sometimes it hard to stay in the saddle.”
Claudio Corti: “No surprises. As I said I understood from the beginning that we would had to do a big job. So I quite pleased with the day. You know, to configure electronics you had to work hard. You can’t do it in one day and even it’s not for one test. We conduct systematic work which we started in Portimao. We moved ahead with rear suspension, but still a lot of work. You make some changes, go for 2-3 laps, analyze, again change something than again go for 2-3 laps. That’s how we do. We have some boundaries, hope tomorrow we will overcome them or at least come close. We’ll see.”
