The Tractor Driver's Day...

Last week-end Yakhnich Motorsport took part in the second stage of The Russian Championship (Supersport 600). This season (2009) the girls of our team are performing in the class Superstock 600 of The MFR Cup. But according to the rules of this year the participants performing in STK for the second year have a right to apply for and show their worth in SBK and SSP 600 of The Russian Championship.

The week-end rich in racing serious managed to disappoint racers of the Russian ring.

Holding the motorcycle races together with the car races “Russian Legends” was expected to be mutually inconvenient for both racing series. So it happened! In the course of the race one car was damaged and spilt oil on the track right before the start of SBK 1000.

The marshals couldn’t cope with cleaning the track, so a tractor was working with all its might scattering sand and cement all over the track.

The organizers gave the sportsmen an opportunity to ride a ten-minute session in the training regime. It became clear that it was just dangerous to race under such conditions. The organizers decided to cancel the competition.

Nadezda Yakhnich: “We regarded this race as a good training for our second stage in Italy which will take place in Magione. The Magion track and our Russian circuit are very much alike. I wish we hadn’t lost this opportunity!”

The next stage of the Russian ring will take place in Finland (Motopark) on June 26-28.
