Yakhnich Motorsport occupied the first line

The race of the 7th round of the World championship FIM World Supersport in Imola will be a special event in the history of Russian motorsport. Both riders Yakhnich Motorsport team qualified on the first starting line – Sam Lowes on the pole-position, Vladimir Leonov – on the third. It’s the best team result in the world championships since the beginning of Russian participation.

Claudio Corsetti, general manager: «High positions consists of efforts of all team. But motorsport is not only speed it's also stability and sometimes luck. Start from the first line in such circuit as Imola is a big achievement for any rider and a new step forward for Yakhnich Motorsport».

Vladimir Leonov: «For me it's a debut – start from the first line. It’s awesome to ride stably quickly – in racing pace – in all sessions. It’s important that now it doesn’t require special efforts. I didn’t get enough speed so few laps we drove with Sam each other, in slip stream I could improve. We worked hard with the bike: changed the frame. After that I felt more comfortable as it was less vibration».
