Stage I, Endurans Cup
The first competition of The MFR Cup - tree-hour endurance team race – took place on June 12, Russia’s Independence Day.
32 pilots, 16 teams joined in the endurance race. Traditionally Yakhnich Motorsport was the only one women motor-racing team among the participants.
The pilots were lucky with the weather and even a shower that had fallen before the race couldn’t spoil the girls’ sport spirits. As a result the qualification was successful. The girls took the 14th start position. It was decided that Nadia would start as it is her strong point.
So it happened. Having lingered at the start, the rivals lost their positions. Nadia ran to the bike very quickly and managed to start the race eighth. Then in the course of the race stronger sportsmen overtook the girls and the team settled on the eleventh position.
The sportswomen decided to take turns every half an hour in this three-hour race. In the course of the race Nadia and Nataliya managed to win one position and finished tenth.
The tenth place is a good result for the first race of the Russian MR season. It should be mentioned that Nataliya Lyubimova was able to show good time 1:49 which is beyond abilities of many sportsmen racing in Superstock 600.
