SUNDAY WARM-UP

It was a good warm up on Sunday morning. No any change in the bike setting was done after Saturday qualifyng. Just we changed the front brake system because of the better feeling with the rider. Nothing else. And immediatly we saw how unlucky was the Saturday quallifyng, because with the same setting he obtained immediatly the fastest lap of 1’35”7, fourth best time of the morning... quite four tenth of second better than Saturday, just changing some lines and riding style in the last three corners of the circuit!

OK, leave the bike like it is for the race and start to smile into the box.

SUNDAY RACE

Start from the 21.th position, knowing that your place should have been much more better, is not the best way to have a positive approuch to the race. The very difficult week-end becames bright only on Sunday morning warm-up, but on the grid we are back...

Ok, take a breath and let’s go: non perfect moving at the green light, but with some fantastic and aggressive mood, Vladimir immediatly starte to recover position from first corner. Loose something at the second, but great overtake at the thirt and forth corner, and so on...

He was fighting for the 15.th pisition before arriving at the corner number 10, the terrible downhill where you must brake hard and downshift from third to first gear.
Exited from the very good action up to this moment, Vladimir arrived to fast at the braking poit, and when he realized he was to fast to stop in time, handed with as much power as possibile on the front brake: 13 bar of pressure insted of the usual 8 was not enough to stop the bike before hitting Roccoli bike, and crashing on the gravel, finishing his first WSS race without finishing the first lap.

Vladimir Leonov: I made a mistake, I was so happy about the bike moving and myself moving in the first corner, I wanted to recover as sun as possibile as much positions, and so in the corner before that crash I was opening the gas more than usual, kiping lot of speed more, and when I realized it was to much, it was too late to avoid the crash... Now I just want to sleep for about 20 hours, to forgot this unlucky week-end!
