Yakhnich Motorsport's tests for CIV Italian championship

Three days of intensive training for all Yakhnich Team in the difficult Imola Circuit. Here the team will be racing two times in the next weeks: 1.st of april for the world Supersport round 2, with Vladimir Leonov, and 8.th April for the second round of Italian Championship, that will start in Mugello next 25.th march. 

This test is very important because no one of the team riders has never been here before. Friday 16.th and Saturday 17.th every rider had to learn the circuit, then start to push as hard as possibile in the final day, sunday the 18.th, to find the better line and better set-up looking to the next races.

Vladimir Leonov at the end of the sessions is stable on the time of 1’53”-5, 1’53”7. That is not so bad, considering that the best laps of last year world supersport winners was around 1’52”.

Sergey Vlasov is starting from this test to use the full supersport electronic management system, while still riding with a stock engine. It was a great test, before the first race next week in Mugello. Team and riders was not concentrated in laptimes (because of the very hard traffic which there was in the circuit)  Nevertheless Sergey was riding stable in 1’56” in the last day.

Great week-end even for Dakota Mamola, that in 2012 is joining the Yakhnich Motorsport Team in CIV Stock 600 class.

Day by day Dakota improved his performances after learning the secrets of this circuit, even following the suggestion of his famous father, Randy Mamola, that is working as “great teacher” for all team riders. Just in this circuit Randy begame his wonderful career in World Championship, in 1977, when he was 17 year old, and now is he is here with is 17 years old son to allow him to start a hopefully similar career. Dakota started on friday lapping in 2’00”, and arrived on sunday being stable on the 1’56”5 rithm...

Last but not least, David Leonov demonstrated in this weekend how strong is his desire to follow the career of  his brother. His weekend started with all the difficoulties that a young rider can find in Imola. Terrible sensantions in the first couple of days, but had happy smiles in the last day, when he finally found the “way” and started to sign good lap times (2’06”-2’07”)  for a beginner.
