First 2013 test
TEAM YAKHNICH MOTORSPORT
SUPERSPORT WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP 2013
Winter test
Jerez de la Frontera
22-23 january 2013
Here we are, after a long winter homework, to start the 2013 WSS season.
In the 2 days test in jerez, 22-23 january, joning many of the other main WSBK and WSS team, Yakhnich Motorsport Team had the plan to tst the last bikes developments and allow to the riders to came back on the seat after the two months stop.
In both days, the results was very good. The 22.th the truck was almost wet for all the day, and Sam Loves and Vladimir Leonov was always among the fastest riders. They did many laps to test the wet suspensions settings, and some new electronic maps.
But the most important day was 23.th. Sun and dry asphalt conditions, even if the temperature was never really good...
From the first laps, Sam Loves established immediately the better Supersport laptimes, and while the circuit conditions becames better and better, he was always stable on the top, testing many different suspernsions settings. The day was closed with a good 1’43”977, just back of Kenan Sofouglu (1’43”890). Unfortunately Sam could’t reply to the turkish rdier in the last part of the sessione because of a little crashed, that blocked him at the box in the topic moment, but taling about the rithm, our rider showed a really impressive performances during all session.
SAM LOWES
“I’m really happy about results. Bike is really fast and is easy for me to manage fast rithm without pushing too much... I really want to go as sun as possibile in Australia now to start the season with this good feeling!”
The Vova Work was different. In the morning he took care to develop the new electronic setting, so he had many laps without pushing aat 100%, to follow the requests of his mechanics. Only in th afternoon he was allowed to push, and immediately established his Yamaha R6 some tenth of seconds (1’44”696) back of the teamate one’s. So, for most of the afternoon, we had the Yakhnich R6 bikes in first and second position. Just in the final rush, while our riders was rolling on the two new bikes for Australia keeping a slower rithm, Sofouglu overtook both of them and Van Den Mark took away the thirth position to Vladimir for just two tenth of second.
So, considering that in the previous test in november we couldn’t ride with good asphalt conditions, and considering the higher experience of our competitors in this circuit, we can say that the final result of this test is great for Yakhnich Motorsport.
VLADIMIR LEONOV
“It was a long test, we made many laps in the morning to roll on many different details, but in the afternoon finally I could push and the feeling with the bike is very good. We are confident tht the season will give us mny satisfations....”
