CIV, 1. ROUND, REPORT
MISANO 10/4/2011
CIV STOCK 600
1.ROUND
RACE
It was a very good morning for Vladimir Leonov. His warm up laps was really perfect, and just after three laps he setted his Yakhnich Motorpsort R6 in the first position, being the only one rider able to go under 1’42” (1’41”8) as stable rithm time. So, for the race all team was expecting to fight with the best riders. Unfortunatly the start was not perfecet, and Vladimir lost immediatly some positions at the first corner. He fighted hadly from the beginning with the riders that overtook him at the start, but one of them had a faster bike on the straight.. for many laps Vladimir overtook this rider fighting for 11.th and 12.th position. In Two, three corners every lap he was ahead, but then in the straight the other rider, Morbidelli, always overtook Leonov... stopping him into the corners and making him unable to do better laptime then 1’42”8... then as Vladimir suxeded in doing one complete lap alone, he immediatly setted the differences, with 1’42”0, but at that point the faster riders was gone. SO, in tha last two laps Leonov took first the 10.th position, then the 9.th, finishing is first round of CIV stock 600 in the point.
Claudio Corsetti “The target of the Yakhnich Motorsport team was to be in the first ten from the first race. We did it, and all team is happy about the general result of the race week-end. What we have seen in Misano, is clearly demostrating us that race by race We will be closer and closer to the protagonist of the CIV stock 600 2011. Today we had fight with some of the best world superstock teams and riders, and without the problems Leonov had in the start, we are sure he had the potential to arrive in the podium area or immediatly after. Stock 600 category is the hardest one we have in CIV. More then 15 riders in one second during qualyfing, and many of this fast and young riders has already international experience. To see them fighting every corner it was a wonderful show. To understand that Leonov has the potential to be respected by all of them, it was a great result for our first race!”
