After motocross where he became master of sport, Vladimir came in road racing in 2005. In 2007 he made his debut in the European Superstock 600cc Cup. He is the only Russian rider who took part in Moto GP in 250cc. From 2010 he presented the team Yakhnich Motorsport. He is the most successful Russian sportsman in the road racing.
